Niti is working with the Indian Institute of Management Jammu as an assistant professor in the area of Business Policy and Strategy. She holds a PhD degree from IIT Kanpur, PGDM (MBA) from IIM Kozhikode and B.Pharm (Hons.) from BITS Pilani. Prior to IIM Jammu, she was a faculty member at the Department of Management BIT Mesra. Niti’s research at IIT Kanpur was in deep-tech entrepreneurship. She was particularly interested in studying the strategy of deep-tech entrepreneurs of the pharma and biotech sector in India. India is witnessing a gradual transition from manufacturing of generic drugs towards contributing to the global value chain of new drug discovery. This has led to an emergence of innovation-led enterprises. Primary agents of these ventures are highly qualified entrepreneurs. Niti’s research involves studying and analysing the strategies of these young, high-tech enterprises.
Niti’s research extends to other innovation-led, high-tech industries, namely, Instrumentation, Material Science, Agriculture and Renewable Energy.
Niti has been interested in research since her PGDM at IIM Kozhikode. Her research at IIM Kozhikode was in the area of Organizational behaviour. Niti is a Bharatnatyam dancer, she is interested in reading philosophy and history and exploring new places.
