Disrupting the Status Quo
Sticking with what we know — what worked in the past — is a symptom of sliding into the status quo. It limits our future performance. Beyond our comfort zone is where we find progress and maximize potential — for the organization and our employees. It takes an art to lead change effectively, and it begins with a conscious effort to upset the status quo. Most people despise change, but it is the one constant in life. We can lead the change in a strategic way, or we can let it happen to us, thereby inadvertently positioning our organization to be vulnerable and disempowered. Every single leader, movement, and organization that has ever wanted to create greatness has had to challenge the status quo. This topic aims to discuss the importance and challenges leaders face in disrupting the status quo and how intimidating it can be to take the road less travelled. With this discussion, we aim to inspire the students not to be afraid to bring in change for both in life and business, either you're evolving or dying.
